The Michigan State hockey team has secured a commitment from Swedish forward Eric Nilson, significantly enhancing their offensive lineup. The 6-foot center, who is ranked seventh among European skaters for the 2025 NHL Draft, showcased his talent at the U-18 World Junior Championships, contributing to Sweden's silver medal finish with five points in seven games.

Nilson's previous season with Djurgårdens IF's J20 team saw him net 12 goals and assist on 26 others in 37 games, and he excelled in the playoffs with six goals and seven assists in nine matches. Following the loss of defenseman Tyson Jugnauth to the Seattle Kraken, the Spartans quickly added Travis Shoudy from Ferris State, reuniting him with his brother Tiernan at MSU. Additionally, they recently welcomed OHL forward Anthony Romani, a sixth-round pick by the Vancouver Canucks, who had a stellar playoff run scoring 12 goals in 16 games.
